Absconding civil judge Bhardwaj surrenders

Absconding Chandigarh civil judge S S Bhardwaj surrendered before the Central Bureau of Investigation in Chandigarh.

He is wanted for his alleged involvement in a graft case and was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 700,000 for himself and district and sessions judge of Jalandhar, R M Gupta, police sources said.

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.

Gupta is already in judicial custody.
