Raids on premises of former TN minister Arcot Veerasamy

Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption on Wednesday raided the premises of former minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham treasurer Arcot N Veerasamy, in Chennai, in connection with a wealth case.

The simultaneous raids, which began around 0700 IST, were conducted in 12 places across the state.

Six places were raided in Chennai, three in Tiruvallur district and one each in Coimbatore, Vellore and Hyderabad, DVAC sources said.

Veerasamy, the DMK treasurer, held the electricity portfolio in the previous government.
