Andhra extends ban on People's War

The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday decided to extend by one more year the ban on the People's War.

The decision to extend the ban, which expires on Tuesday, was taken at a meeting of the state Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The ban on the PW has been in force since 1992, barring a yearlong reprieve in the mid-1990s.
