Warangal mishap: 14 dead identified Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad | July 02, 2003 22:37 IST The South Central Railway authorities have identified ten of the over 22 reported dead in Wednesday morning's derailment of the Secundrabad-bound Golconda Express in Warangal in Andhra Pradesh. 1. Veeraswamy (aged 34, resident of Kesamudram) Of the 22 injured in the accident, eight have been identified as follows: M Butchary (23), P Rama (30), G Venkateshwarlu (30), N Lallu (22), Ms Z Rama (32), G Ravi (20), E Nagi Reddy (30) and Ms B Laxmi (30)." Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who rushed to Warangal by a helicopter, visited the accident site. He expressed concern over the frequent train accidents in the state and elsewhere in the country and pointed out that he had spoken to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, urging him to order a high-level inquiry into this accident. The SCR said that train driver Mohammed Rasheed Jani and his assistant P Sambaiah are among the injured.
