Senior Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal leader and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa has demanded the dismissal of two Punjab ministers, Pratap Singh Bajwa and Amarjeet Singh Samra, who had allegedly hired the services of call girls during electioneering for Gujarat assembly polls.

Gujarat Minister of State for Home Affairs Amit Shah had alleged that the names of the two Punjab ministers and a Congress legislator from Delhi, Arvinder Singh Lovely, figured during the probe of a sex racket unearthed by the Gujarat police recently.

The two ministers have denied the allegations and threatened to file Rs 100 crore defamation suit against Shah.

Dhindsa told rediff.com that the two ministers "cannot escape" by threatening to file a suit. "The investigation (into the sex racket) culminated only last week. Captain Amarinder Singh as the chief minister of Punjab owes moral responsibility to sack these ministers, who have brought a bad name to the state. In fact Amarinder Singh as the head of the government must resign on moral grounds," he said.

The SAD-B is now planning to meet Punjab Governor Lt Gen J K F Jacob to demand the dismissal of the two ministers, if the chief minister does not take action against them.
