December 22, 2003 12:20 IST

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana is being appointed governor of Rajasthan.

This came out in the Lok Sabha when Speaker Manohar Joshi congratulated him on his new assignment.

As Khurana entered the House the speaker remarked in jest: "How can a governor come to the House?"

Indian Union Muslim League member E Ahamed quipped: "Can we MPs stay in Raj Bhavan when we come to Rajasthan?"

An official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.
