Parliament on Friday paid homage to the security personnel who laid down their lives while protecting the seat of democracy from the terrorist attack of December 13, 2001.

The attempt of terrorists was brought to nought by the bravery displayed by security personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force, Delhi Police, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and the Parliament Watch and Ward staff.
"On this occasion, let us renew our resolve to fight the evil of terrorism and protect unity, integrity and sovereignty of our country."
Rajya Sabha Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhwat said: "The act of terrorism must be condemned unequivocally and firmly and we must resolve to fight terrorism with determination."
Recalling the heroic deeds of security personnel in protecting Parliament and its members, he said all those who were killed had made the supreme sacrifice.
