Congress crisis in Punjab worsens

December 11, 2003 18:10 IST

Punjab Agriculture Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who is heading a group of dissident legislators, on Thursday said she would go back to the state only after the Congress high command removed Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

"The economic condition is very bad in Punjab. Still the chief minister brought his loyal MLAs by air yesterday to parade before the AICC committee and put them in a five-star hotel here," she said after a breakfast meeting with her supporters at the Punjab Bhawan in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, sources said Bhattal was planning to submit a list of 35 MLAs who wanted the CM removed.
