The prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, Abdul Karim Telgi, on Saturday said he is ready to face lie-detector and voice recording tests as sought by the Special Investigation Team in Maharashtra.

Telgi's counsel, M T Nanaiah, said Telgi will cooperate with the SIT.

"He [Telgi] says, nothing is going to happen...it is all a show. He is ready to let the matter be investigated thoroughly," Nanaiah said.

He said Telgi read about the SIT's plan to put him through a lie-detector test in newspapers. "He wants to, in fact, meet the press and have detailed discussions with the press," the lawyer said.

Nanaiah said Telgi is also for a CBI probe into the case.

The SIT has requested a special court in Mumbai for permission to conduct lie detector tests, P300 brain finger printing and narco-analysis on nine accused, including Telgi.
