On August 31, idols of Lord Ganesha will be taken out in processions all over Mumbai with appropriate pomp and splendour.

What one sees on Ganesh Chaturthi is the climax of months of hard work.

A stall at the Central Railway Ground, Parel, northcentral Mumbai, owned by Ramesh Rawale. Mukesh, a painter at the stall, works on a nine-foot idol.
