Togadia prevented from entering Patna

August 15, 2003 10:55 IST

Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Praveen Togadia was prevented from taking part in Independence Day celebrations in Patna on Friday and was packed off to Delhi soon after his arrival from Mumbai, official sources said.

"Togadia was not even allowed to come out of the LNJP International airport here and was made to board the same flight back to Delhi by the Patna district authorities," they said.

He was to participate in a Vishwa Hindu Parishad function to mark the day.

Earlier, the Patna district administration had clamped section 144 of CrPC apprehending breach of peace in Patna sub-division area during Togadia's visit.
