Two terror plans foiled in J&K

August 09, 2003 13:57 IST

Security forces on Saturday foiled a terrorist plan to trigger blasts at two crowded bus stands in Kashmir, official sources said.

They detected two explosive devices at Sogam bus stand in Kupwara district and Sopore bus stand in Baramulla district, the sources said.

Bomb disposal squads defused both the devices -- an improvised explosive device and a grenade, they said.

Security has been beefed up across Kashmir valley in the wake of a spurt in terrorist attacks.
