Vajpayee, Sonia to visit
Akshardham temple

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is flying directly to Ahmedabad from Male after cutting short his official visit to the Maldives following the attack on the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar.

After landing in Ahmedabad, he would visit the temple before returning to Delhi.

The prime minister will also visit hospitals where the injured have been admitted.

Earlier on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani paid a visit to the temple and saw the bodies of two terrorists lying outside the temple.

Both of them had bullet marks all over the body, including their feet and face.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be visiting the temple on Wednesday afternoon. She is expected to return to Delhi in the evening.
