Delhi police seize R K Sharma's
movable assets

A Delhi police team on Wednesday took into possession some movable assets of Ravi Kant Sharma, prime suspect in the murder of Indian Express journalist Shivani Bhatnagar, from his residence in Panchkula (Haryana) two days after they decided to attach the senior IPS officer's property.

Sharma's car, television, refrigerator and washing machine were among the assets attached by a team of the Crime Branch of the Delhi police, his wife Madhu Sharma told reporters.

"It is routine. Everything is fine," Madhu Sharma said, adding all the items taken away by the police team were shown by Sharma in his Income Tax return. The team gave her a receipt of the items taken from the house, she added.

A number of items were left behind by the policemen when she told them that they belonged to her as they were given to her at the time of marriage, Madhu Sharma said, adding the house was in the name of Sharma's mother.

The team, led by Inspector Surinder Bhatia and accompanied by Panchkula police, had brought a mini truck along.

Sharma has been eluding arrest since August three.
