R K Sharma makes the most wanted list

Onkar Singh in New Delhi

The Delhi police has put Indian Police Service officer Ravi Kant Sharma, the prime accused in the Indian Express journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, in its most wanted list.

This follows the rejection of Sharma's bail plea by the Delhi high court. The Delhi police has also moved the Ministry of External Affairs to revoke the passport of Sharma, who has been eluding the police since August one, besides initiating the process for declaring him a proclaimed offender.

The Delhi police web site carries Sharma's picture and his residential address.

The site also announces a reward of Rs 50,000 for anyone who tips the police of his whereabouts. A significant omission in the announcement is the designation of the police officer, who is an Inspector General of Police.

The Delhi police has so far arrested three persons, Sri Bhagwan Sharma, Pradeep Kumar Sharma and Satya Prakash, in connection with the murder case. The arrested persons have allegedly named R K Sharma as the mastermind behind the murder.
