NSG commando's condition
still critical

The condition of NSG commando Surjan Singh Bhandari, who was injured during the terrorist attack on the Akshardham temple in September, continues to be critical with his heart beat reducing further, doctors attending on him said in Ahmedabad on Monday.

"Surjan Singh is in a very critical condition. The heart beat, which was around 90 to 100, dropped to 58 on Sunday night," said Dr Jayesh Shelat, neuro-surgeon, who is monitoring the condition of the commando.

Singh is "continues to be on artificial respiratory system and is under close observation," he said.

Shelat said the commando's pulse rate had last week abnormally dropped to 41 but later picked up on application of drugs.

Three commandos, including two from the state reserve police, had died during the operation.
