MiG-21 crashes in Assam

A MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Friday crashed in Assam's Sonitpur district, but its two pilots bailed out safely.

Official sources said the aircraft of the Tezpur base was on a routine sortie when it crashed near Khanumukh Rajgarh village at about 1410 IST.

Senior IAF officials rushed to the site and investigations were on.

This was the third aircraft from the Tezpur base to crash this year.
