'Israel cannot stop Hamas, nor could Britain stop IRA...'

Your Views:Hey, what prevents the government from atleast conducting 'black ops' style operations against Pakistan. We sure have intelligence on who is the terrorist, and where they are in Pakistan etc. Just go in and decimate them slowly but steadily - the good thing about this approach is that it is legitimate and legal (self-defence). Plus it will sow some fear into the jehadis about what they are up against. The only minus point is that our leaders need to have some knees ... for undoubtedly, attempts will be made on their lives. Netas, are you guys willing to do something for the country ...this is your chance to show!

Your Views:Yes we are cowards. It's an historical fact. We were ruled for thousand years by Muslims and then the British. We cannot fight Pakistan because they are too bold and daring. Sure we have a large army but quantity does not matter. It's the quality that counts. Pakistan has that qualitative edge. Our military planners are fully aware of that. We can show our courage by mob violance as we did in Gujrat and Punjab, killing our own fellow citizens, raping, burning, looting etc. I guess we can only show our bravery by killing our own kind and then blaming it on Pakistan.

Your Views:Not so. It is impossible to stop determined terrorists from carrying out such attacks. Israel cannot stop Hamas, nor could Britain stop IRA. Americans were beaten in Vietnam, and USSR was bruised in Afghanistan. Guirella tactics was invented for the situation of small guy fighting the big guy. And nothing has changed in the world since then to prevent this. To others who believe that we are a bunch of losers: You might be losers, but not I, and there are thousands others who win steadily. Losing a battle does not mean losing a war. It it those (like you) who have lost their self respect and courage who end up as being losers. War with terrorists is a costly battle and we will suffer casualties. What makes is tough is Pakistan, which is the haven for these mindless killers. And for those who advocate fighting Pakistan: Wake up. Pakistan is a nueclear capable nation and fighting Pakistan will lead to enormous losses to our side. The fact that Pakistan will cease to exist does nothing to alleviate the suffering we will have in that case. To sum up, If you use your brains and reason it out, there really is no other way to combat terrorism that what we are doing now.

Your Views:Are we soft state? yes we are softbacause Murderer of 2000 innocent people is still cheif Minister instead of being on death row. Yes we are soft because we gave opportunity to terrorists to have roots in Gujarat. Do not blame pakistan for this . Where is proof. Why can't it be just somebody from Gujarat whose innocent family was burned with the help of govt which is supposed to protect them . yes we are soft when VHP is spewing venom against our own citizen and we can not do any thing. We are soft because we are corrupt and insincere to anything human. We should be placing our house in order instaed of going out and start accsing pak of everything. And one more thing , what pak could not do for 50 years Modi did with in 1st year . think abt it. And if attack was handiwork of some local Muslims who lost families I am not angry with them I am just sorry for India.

Your Views:We are a soft state for all the wrong reasons : 1. We are soft on Poverty (Bank Scams and Stock Scams have made many people poor, but the responsible minister was just transferred and not jailed ) 2. We are soft on Corruption (George and Ram Naik are still ministers) 3. We are soft on people who bring Wrong laws which violate human rights like POTA (Which was being told as a panacea against terrorism and after the implementation of which , terrorist strikes have increased) 4. We are soft on rioters (Advani and Uma Bharti are not in jail for encouraging people to riot and demolish a mosque) 5. We are soft on fundamentalists (People who demoished the Babri Masjid) Lets take action against the Cancers like Veerappan in our country and then talk about taking action against Pakistan. We are soft on Bureaucrats and Ministers who dont stop on traffic signals . No action is taken against them.Lets act on them and then talk of Pakistan. First lets put our own house in order and then talk of the Foreign Hand .

Your Views:yes, India is a soft target because we ourselves are providing ground to others to come and attack us but we can not blame to others since we are responsible for the same. Unless we control the hindu militancy which is being spread by the sangh parivaar i.e. RSS, Bajrang Dal, V.H.P., B.J.P. etc. we can not fight with the others. Their militancy has been proved to be counter productive and has given rise to terrorism. Attacks on muslims, christains and other minorities has become very common, The massacre of muslims in Gujarat riot which was state sponsored as evident from the statements of Narendra Modi, L.K. Advani, Praveen Togadia, Ashok Singal. The Pakistan is using the activities of Sangh Parivaar and its leader as a fuel to its ulterior motive. Unless and until the minorities are safe and protected by the Govt. India shall remain as a soft traget for others specially for Pakistan.

Your Views:I understand the angst and anger which goes up everytime such an incident happens. This is basically because we never prepared our nation for covert operations as the national policy based on sickening "non-alingnment" and "secularism" principle, prevented us from doing so. Our media still sucks up to powers to be and still harps of Tehelkas and Godse's fault completely ignoring the fact for example how many days did the opposition actually let the parliament to function! The jingoism wont work as we are not fighting an "armyless' Palestine or a rag tag Taliban but a nuclear country run by a dictator and led by ISI who are autonomous. What is the big use in occupying a useless piece of junk land called POK? What we should we do is to take away stupid seperate laws for Kashmir prohibiting non-Kashmiri Indians from owning land there. This will allow influx of industry and improve the economy at Kashmir and there won't be anyone left to think of Jehad. You fight terrorism with economics not with war mongering. It's easy for all of us sitting in front of PC to blab about war ever thought about difficulties under which our defence sector performs. First be honest citizens and pay taxes

India needs to do more productive Police work and present hard evidance to People of India and World.Instead of killing thoes attackers, they should have made some effort to arrest them.

Your Views:Who ever said this, i think, is a great pessimist. This has been off-late become a fashion of sorts to ridicule our leaders. But lets keep one point in view my friends, we are a billion people and any form of aggression with out balance and hindsight will have a profound effect on our society as a whole. I would like to ask one question. Are we prepared for aggression ? Can the whole nation sing one tune to our leaders? Can we stand united in tough times as we did for our freedom? Put these questions and you will have answers for our restraint. But times are changing, and I firmly believe that we should start voicing our concerns much more firmly than we are used to. Think what a roar it would be if 1/6 th of world population lends its voice to a cause. If there is a moment that we should all come under one roof it is this. Finally, I should say it better stay calm and punch a death blow to our opponents than to huff and puff out aggression. One sting is better than a thousand hisses.

Your Views:We are not a bunch of losers or cowards - we are simply selfish and corrupt. Which leads to our behaving in a manner which may sometime make us look like losers or cowardly. Our politicians are not cowards. They are simply greedy. Let's face it. They are not in Delhi to serve the nation. They are simply there to loot as much as they can from the nation's coffers. And waging wars and placing themselves in the way of harm by way of possible bombing of the national capital or such likes, does not jell with thier looting operation. You think a Laloo or a Mulayam or a Kanshi/Mayawati care about india and our prestige enough to wage a war ? BAH !

Your Views:I think that the man whose principles have made India a soft state is Mahatma Gandhi. His principles are simply outdated and probably misused badly in today's world.we see strikes,Dharnas, taking the form of "Hartals" in india. Where else is there a practise that an organization stalls the country in the name of an attack by a terrorist. Did american's call for a strike on September 12.If they had called for a world wide strike on sep 12 india would have been the only affected country. We indians by calling for strike after terrorist "strikes" have made the terrorists more proud as they could stall the country's growth, buisiness for a day..Pity....what a shameful situation When we defeat ourselves through our cowardly acts, then how can we defeat our enemies.. i wonder ..how india is a real fight to china as many say..if India is to surge ahead as a gutsy the only possible way is to remove the bullshit politicians and give the ARMY the complete power. Democracy is not for those who have always misused them.Democracy should take taken off when it is not for the people,by the people.

We dont have guts to insist that our leaders should not be criminals. What can you expect from a polity which has no agenda other winning another election and cornering vote banks. These b******s use such unfortunate happenings (Akshardham) to gain political milage. Apart from shedding croc tears in the glare of the media and issuing statements blaming the ruling b******s for security lapses they do nothing. Why do you want to fight Pakistan when you have a 'greater enemy', the corrupt politicians to deal with right under your nose. They blame Pakistan for all their ineffeciencies? What were the policy makers doing? These b******s cannot catch one small Veerappan, the hell they will fight terrorists. Each one of them is worse than a terrorist. Send them to the border for 10 days with their chamchas and the b******s will realise what it is to be a soldier. From now onward let us make it a policy to have atleast 50% of our ministers with a military background you will see the discipline and the seriousness with which this country will be run bharath matha ki jai

Your Views: Well the way our "Nationalist Leaders" run to Uncle Sam and cribb makes me feel bad. India should stp from uttering noises and should be resilent. Dont talk of war if you are not planning for war. Secondly, since we live in a Nuclearised South Asia, things are easy said than done. It would be blunder on our side to think we can kick pakis. And moreover some people are giving the example of Israel, get real people Israel is not a "terror free state" inspite of their hard stance. As long as we as people entertain extremist right wing tendencies with in our civil society (both Hindus , Muslims, Christians, Sikhs) violence will continue. Change should come within Pakisthan is root cause of atttitude is replacing, British rule is root cause of all (this thought was predominant in 80s). Any change should start within, the pain and greif that follows war is too costly and we cannot get those valuble lives. Extremists argue that we are losing lives daily, that is a consequence of our inability to keep our folks home (it is Indians who are killing or helping others kill). My point it we should retrospect and change the mindset of average indian towards growth, secularism and tolerance.

It is not Hindutva, nor the eye for an eye policy nor any separatist policy that that has to be taken. We have to each a national agreement on how our stand will be. and we have to standby those declacratives even those our loved ones are on the hook. These are not to be taken on the basis of religious nor on the basis of caste or creed nor do the politicians have to decide them .this has to be by the people of india.

What we do is nothing compared to a day of the army man who risks his life for us or the farmer who sweats his brow for creating paddy. Learn to respect them first and grow from boys to men. Talking for the country or serving the countrymen is not giving great fundas in mailing lists/ review boxes. And regarding this idea of " Bunch of losers and nation of cowards" with people like you and others who share your views and are armchair experts, we defenitely dont have a dearth of cowards or losers in our country. Just do you daily part of following civic rules even something like proper traffic sense, do something wherein atleast you make a sincere attempt to being a true Indian. Your Views:Heads off to the bearing capacity of we Indians..who are represented by Politicians whose blood and hearts are so well refrigeted in their cozy power houses.. To Preserve the peace and security of the people of India should be the Top most agenda of any and all the citizens of our country. so to do that the first thing to do is to flush out all terrorist groups from the country...i will say just kill them by special operations as done by US in Afganistan and Isreal in Gaza Strip dont send them back to anywhere so that no one will dare to come inside this Black Hole anytime. And believe me its possible with the Talent and Technology we have with the Indian Army. But the problem is not what to do its why to do as for doing this we have to flush out f**** terrorist from the Political system also who uses them as agenda for election campaign. Now politicians are not the only one to be blamed we as the citizens also have a hand in it and so does the media except for few instances. We all are part of it which is why the politicians srry terrorist are taking advantage of our patience/ignorance/yechaltarahetahai/whatcanwedo attitude. we have to resist them all the way to thier end.

Since then, Pak has followed suit and now we have to think twice before invading Pak. We can amass our troops on the border, but we cannot risk a N-war. Hence, we are forced into being a 'soft' spectator, afraid to retaliate. The dream of regaining POK, the plans to destroy the terror camps are all empty rhetoric. At the back of our mind, we all know that Pak's Nuclear reply can be deadly.

Mere warnings don't help and neither do they bring any pride to the nation. I wonder why does India spend so much on its defence, when it does not intend to use it for any good. Your Views:India has been made a soft target, by the politicians and i entirely blame the congress party for the same. By using all the unethical means they have ruled the country for over 40 years. Thus we cannot expect anything from Congress party. Just for example see the statements of Kapil Sibal, after Akshardham, he said on Sahar TV, that this attack was due to Gujarat riots, the same statement was made by Musharraf, Then on a discusion on Star TV he said "They say the letters in Urdu were planted on the terrorists". Now we should ask Kapil Sibal who are "they". I would ask him who is he an Indian or a Pakistani to say such things. Or is there an underdstanding between the Congress and Mushraff. In the end it would like to say that "We are NOT a bunch of losers and a nation of cowards", but we have been made to appear like that by the politicians, especially of the Congress and communist cult, and by our biased media. India can be much stronger nation if strong patriotism in inculcated in the new generation and for that we have to learn the correct history of our nation and not the communist version writen specifically to suit the british needs, which we learn in our schools.

Most of the time we hear comments like "India should immmediately launch war against Pakistan" , "War is the only solution to Kashmir Problem" and so on, from people neither of whom or anyone among their forefathers have ever tasted the war or its results. "Uptill nobody from my family is in armed forces, I support WAR", is what is our current mentality. It is very easy to make a comment by sitting in a chair in a comfortable AC room. But one should realise the intensity of the remark, understanding the ground realities, before making it. Consider a situation in which Pakistan might use a bomb similar to one being dropped in Nagasaki/Hiroshima during the 2nd World War. Atleast next three generations of our country will get effected by that, as proved by Japan's case. People of Punjab/Kashmir and surrounding areas were and have been the worst suffers of all wars(which involved India) , since centuries. The same people suffered the most in all the three recent wars with Pakistan as well. The irony of the fact is that maximum percentage of people in armed forces of India is from Punjab only.

Your Views:Dear Sir, India has always been a peace loving nation and others have always taken benefit out of it. Any nation, no matter how small it is will attack us in this way if we have a history of having a king who has pardoned same intruder 17 times and then eventually killed by the same intruder in their 18th clash. And we haven't done anything after that to make for that blemish. We are forgiving, non-violent and ours is a land of great saints. But, is politics a saintly endeavour? No, we love peace. We dont have policy of attacking others to occupy their resources or land or whatever. But, if we dont respond to their attacks direct or otherwise, we are bound to face more and worse. Politicians are in deep slumber. Their one point agenda is how to be in power for the remaining of their old lives. What we need is overhauling of system. We need young leadership and also we dont want life-long politicians. Politics is not a profession. Talented people from various fields should come ahead and serve country for a term or two and then go back to their professions. Wake up common man. Reject these old, tired politicians and be the master of your own destiny. God bless my country!!!

It seems that our neighbouring country has learnt that it can never win against India in a war, so they are going for terrorism. We also have to blame our government for failing miserably in the diplomatic front. Outside India how many countries know what exactly happened in gujarat? India has failed miserably to make it point to other countries as to how terrible the attack was. India has failed to get the international attention on this issue. There is no value for life of the indian soldiers and common people. The politicians are all concerned about saving their careerds. No body gives a damn as to what happens to people or the country or the soldiers. We need a bold leader who can kick the hell out of the terrorists and the nations supporting it. We no more can tolerate this nonsense, It is high time Indian politicians raise above their greed and think about the country and stop these brutal killings. Jai Hind.

It is the "sick" and "f******" politics played by all the parties (BJP,Cong or other) which have from time to time made us feel low and coward. To take a recent example, to make its dwindling popularity rise, BJP made a hue and cry of attacking Pak. and deployed forces (which are yet there and all becoz of political point winning strategy). If they had will, why shud they make statements..just either attack or either call off troops and try negotiating(which again is useful to lipserving the West whenever time comes). What we need is a strong willed nation with a common goal like Israel has or even Pakistan has.!! for that matter. There are no two voices in Pak. and hence the people continue to have belief in their Govt.I'm not favouring the Undemocratic govt. but citing an example. If you give a funda that india is mixed country, then people very well realise that we first are indians!Whether you attck Pak or Nepal?..no one ..neither Muslim nor Hindu votes will be reduced!!

What needs to be done in order to send a message across the border to those who think that they can go anywhere in india and kill at their will without much to fear is --don't give a simple jail sentence to a captured terrorist, cut their limbs and throw them across POK or publicly execute them . Then see how many are willing to indulge in such terrorist acts against india. This idea at the forset may seem to be wild, but always keep in mind countries like Soudi which have similar laws against drug trafikking. Terrorists are not humans and only brutal punishments like these can deter such fanatics. Execution and prosecution is a must.

My question to all these people is: aren't they doing exactly the same thing? Roaring from the safety of their cosy homes? With the added benefit of the anonymity afforded by the internet. I want each person who thinks we are a bunch of losers and a nation of cowards to ask themselves two questions: Am I any different? If not, am I willing to do something about it? Instead of simply criticising ad nauseum, why don't people think of some way of solving the problem they perceive? It is always convenient to play the blame game, but when it comes to doing something, most people put personal convenience and comfort before the nation. As far as my personal views on this matter, I don't think the average Indian is a loser. Considering that he is at or below the poverty line, faced with herculean problems in every aspect of his life, it takes a lot of courage to boldly face those problems and continue to live and often succeeds. Weaker souls would give up at far less! The problem we have is one of pride and genuine patriotism - which translate to gutless leaders running things.

And the other thing that bothers me is that most of your readers are making America nad Israel some big heroes. Accordng to you all,Israel is not a soft state, but how come it is in the grip of severe terrorism? And what has America done to prevent future 9/11s, merely gone out and killed a rag tag bunch of Taliban. The al qaeda is almost intact, their motivation probably higher than ever before. All that I'm driving at is that by merely posing as a Hard state a nation doesn't become hard. I would concede Israel and america are not soft if the can secure peace and security for their citizens. There is no point in sucking up to the U.S, no point in troop mobilisation. We have lost 1000s of our soldiers and citizens in 'peace' time. A war can't be far worse? Nuclear blackmail is all hogwash. India sure has a strategy to defeat any of Pak's nuke designs. Your Views:I saw a couple of replies saying we should act like isarael. But look at it this way. We dont have the big bro support whereas both Israel and Pak enjoy it considerably. We dont enjoy world wide support. Even though u put the toughest prime minister at the top his hands are tied. Considering the recession that we are having as of now, it is almost impossible to hold on to a war. Our country has a budget deficit of nearly 30%. The govt will not spend money on other issues during war unlike US of A where war promotes defence spending and hence promotes jobs. Look at it this way. Pakistan is not our biggest enemy. It is a small country with virtually no scope for improvement. The fact that such a country can support this kind of a defence spending for such a long time itself implies that they dont spend their money...Their defence spending is 30% of their GDP (We spend 2-3%). Which country can afford such a luxury unless they are supported externally (Alias Big Bro). So even though it is our concern that pakistan harbours terrorists or militants or whatever, it is imperative for us to destroy the support that it is getting externally.

Has anyone of us ever decided to do something about the pitiable state of our politics. Has anyone tried to organize a mass movement against these same people whom everyone is spitting venom against. None, why, because all everyone wants is that someone else should do things for us. This collective psyche is reflected in the actions taken by our leaders too... The way out is for us to unite ourselves and make whatever sacrifices we can to make lives better for ourselves and future generations. I am seeing so many mails where people are so vociferous in criticizing. But if I suggest that we get together and do something about it I know no one will turn up. Your Views:Yes India is definitely a soft target. in fact she is gradually becoming a joke to the international community. There is not a single country in the world who wouldn't take any direct action against a neighbour when the neighbour has caused as much harm as Pakistan did. The whole world knows that what India will do is blow hot a lot and act as if they are close to a war but eventually will do nothing. That's what the paki's are hedging onand doing what they are doing. Vajpayee is gradually turning into a mascot like figure. When he should be going to war, he is busy writing poetry. I am not suggesting that the Congress would do any better. What we need is a real leader who will not be scared to do the obvious. Again the foreign minister hs talked about any country having the right for a pre-emptive strike. But will India ever do it? If not why talk about it and give the wrong impression. The leadership of India is all talk, talk, and talk but has no balls to go to war. The leaders talk about Pakistan holding the world commuity hostage with nuclear weapon, the fact is it is not the world community but India. And they will continue to do so as long as they realize that India is soft.

The method of acting in a rash manner by going on a war with pakistan will, in no way help us come out or solve our problem. What we need is politicians with no self interests, which we wont get. The problem of terrorism in one way can be solved by increasing the internal security within the country rather than blamming pakistan for each and every harm that is being inflicted on us, ofcourse its a wide known fact that pak is responsible for all acts. What we should not do is act in a rage when som terrsorist attack is done. we have the power to attack a country, but are we prepared to receive the strikes from them, are we ready if there is a nuclear attack. how far our medical facilities are good interms of helping war ravaged areas. Again this doesnt mean that we are coward, everythin that we should do is in terms of long term interests of the country. we wont get anything by attacking pak, after som 3 or 6 days of war UN will interfere and coz a stalemate. So what we need is strategic planning and improvement in internal security to accomplish a selfsustained develeped India.

Their sole aim is destined to create rift between the different peace loving communities & spread hatred among them & then reap its fruits in the form of electoral gains, this particular motive, has time & again let us down in front of the world. Terrorism definetly needs to be wiped off,& violence of any form against the innocent civilians is a direct attack on a civilized society & is unbearable. But, terror cannot be fought the way we have been doing, we need to unite the nation first, lets forget whatever differences we have & put a united front to tackle the mennance of terrorism. Our power hungry leaders will have to shed their lust & hunger for power & look beyond political power & adopt a more firm & aggressive attitude towards the problem. The integrity & nationalism of any person of any community should'nt be tested the way its done at present. Until & unless this happenes, its useless to repeat our resolve each day to fight terror to its end.

India is an elephant that does not know its strength and is suseptible to bullying by all and sundry. The only option left for India is to strike forcefully at the terrorist bases in Pakistan and in the eventuality of retaliation, be prepared for full fledged war.But if war happens this time the outcome has to be destruction of Pakistans'military and to completely disarm it. Also to kill all Pakistani generals and senior army officers and completely destroy the entire fighting machine of Pakistan and leave Pakistan totally dismembered so that even in a million years it may not even think of doing any mischief .India would also have to occupy Pakistan for a short while to completely destroy the terroism infrastructure. And during such an occupation civilian casualties are to be ignored and termed as collatrel damage.Short of that war will be a waste of valuable resources. Unfortunately unlike Israel our babudom is only interested in shooting verbal nukes as civilians become victims of bullets. What is the breaking point? It seems only when an unfortunate incident that will involve our politicians becoming a victim will we begin to show signs of action and move away from being a soft state. But our unsung heroes-the commandos, the jawans, the security guards are too good for this slip to happen. When will we as a collective nation begin to solve a problem and not just understand (this email included) it? I hope you carry a section asking for "Solutions". I am at a loss of what is a possible solution that won't invovle more killings.

The nation that we are all outraged about, what was it before the british? The soldiers, the "Hindu Kshatriyas" and the rest of them creamies, they fought against each other and didn't give a damn about the people. The 1857 revolt was suppressed with the help of the gurkhas, and the Sikhs... So much for a "nation" which reacted with "firm violence" The "mahatma" was one of the rare few who realised the potential of a nation in a rabble of discordant kingdoms that the subcontinent was before this century. He brought the POWER to the people for the first time since the pre-Alexander democracies. It is foolish to fight nuclear misslies with khadi, agreed, but we should stop trying to cover our cowardice by showing our false machismo and bravado in maligning the name of one the very few GOOD things that happened to this "nation". And no, we are not a soft state. period. No "nation" has achieved what we have in our 55 years of independence with our kind of odds. We are a giant that is stumbling, but stumbling forward. We have conquered much worse... jai hind

Your Views:India has been historically soft. When Europeans, the moghuls and the British invaded and ruled India, we never fought back. Now we think Mr. Vajpayee will fight? He will file another protest note at UN! Indians were not even informed for long, that Pak and China captured chunks of Kashmir! Are we destined to be like this, until, say, Shri Ram comes again to defend us? We are cursed with a group of dirty old corrupt long living politicians. India is converted from land of milk and honey to land of dirt and misery! There is no drinking water for millions even after 55 years of independence, while politicians made millions! Gandhi said to dissolve Congress party, instead Gandhi was killed and they are still expoliting the name! They die at 99 only, when another dirty old corrupt politician takes over. I am delighted by all these messages on these columns with such unanimous view. But what is required is action! I am against any kind of war, as the thousands getting killed really are not the culprits. Just get rid of the leaders! Concentrate on covert operations against Pak and other extremists; fight with them their own way; and change India so none has to be an NRI!

Your Views:Need to Apply Pressure on Politicians: The one amazing thing about this plethora of opinions is that they are all in agreement! If everyone agrees that India is truly a soft state and that the politicians do not take strong action, the citizens must make that point clear to politicians. Any elected official is a reactionary - not a leader. The official does what makes his constituency happy and keeps him/her in power. Ordinary Indian citizens must band together and approach their local and state politicians and express to them repeatedly that strong action must be taken, or else those politicians will be voted out of office. This is a message any politician will understand! ;-) Politicians DO follow the people's desires. After all, when the people of India decided that 40 years of Congress in power was enough, they voted the BJP into power. Likewise, they can now demand that the BJP leadership listens to their concerns. If the ruling politicians do not listen to the public's concerns and they nevertheless cannot get voted out of power, then you do not have a real Democracy. India however IS a Democracy! TO DO: Apply constant pressure on the politicians

How to keep India growing, keep Paki terrorists out, and keep everyone else from killing each other. Winston Churchill said: "jaw-jaw is better than war-war." India is doing exactly the right thing by not letting things get out of control and waging a full war. Indians do not realize the tremendous pressure Pakis are under. I'm giving them 3 more years, after which Pak will either re-join the civilized family of nations, or disintegrate into a squabbling quartet of states, each vying to be more fundy than the other. The worst thing we can do at this point is play into the jihadi's hands by being extremists ourselves. Enough is enough. I support Najid Hussain.

Its should be firmly implemented without any bias and all these extremists,Hindus or Muslims, who preach hate among indians should be banned and brought to justice. Your Views:India has never been a soft state. It has only been portrayed as a soft state. Look at the history of India. When ever there was attrocity or social misconduct carried out against Indians there was an uprising and that is the example which can be derived from King Puru to Maharana Pratap to Shivaj Maharaj to Savarkar to Bose to name some of the popular ones. There was always an action which was taken but that action was neither anticipated nor planned with little or no logistical support and most importantly an element of betrayal pan-handed by traitors. So the aggressiveness which croped up was crushed immediately and most of the event are not worth mentioning because it is marked as unsuccessful. See the tremendous support which India mustered during the Kargil War and that made the war swift and decisive. Today we are unmatched by our neighbouring countries in the fields of science and technology because of the bitter lessons we learned and there is a consolidation of feelings and emotions with the help of media (rediff.com is doing great job). Still what we lack is a response from the politician which has failed inspite of tremendous support inside the country. ASK WHY?

Gandhi's genius produced the idea of waging a war without having to spend on weapons. He just demonstrated a concept a philosophy, he did not ask the morons to follow it everywhere. Now if our people can only blame dead geniuses and not the existing brain-dead, money/power hungry, visionless politicians, then I think there has been a major dip in the average IQ of our country. Those who believe in violence, well then wipe out these old, slimy politicians and let the new generation come to power. But the fact is, this call for violence will be met with a sly smile, and a tacit admission that that it cannot be done for those old cronies in power are too strong to be brought down. These attacks on akshardhams have never been a problem, the problem is the government not doing anything about the identity cards for all indians. If people have faith in our ability to overrun an entire country in a military operation, why not place faith on ourselves, improve our relationships with people of other religions in our own country. If there is a government to blame, the easiest thing to do is to blame it. Why dont we see that the problem lies with us. Why do we get corrupted and swayed but radical fanatics who use religion as their tool to drive people crazy. If you look at the happenings in Mumbai, Delhi Wherein, during the atrocities committed against women( the rape of a minor in a train in Mumbai, the rape of the women in a law college in Delhi in daylight) the public were just mute spectators and did not care to even intervene. This shows that the cowardly behaviour is rooted deeply in the common people. The politicians are no different and there is no point in blaming them as they are also the same people who were elected by the same cowardly peple. Only when the public begins to show some courage can you expect the poliicians to be more daring. It is like the politicians are the mirror of the public. Because, the common man keeps losing his friends and relatives in these reckless acts of terrirosim without "Z" security. The rulers (the modern Kings and Princes of India) keep coming out with empty threats and warnings aimed at, god knows who. I think the time has come for all Indians to file something like a class suit against the State (government) for its failure to protect its citizens. Or, there should be a revolt to throw out these politicians and instal a statesman as the Prime Minister. With the BJP too letting us down, the Indians do not have any other option now. Sonia's Congress certainly is not a worthy option. So, all Indians should take more responsibility upon themselves just as orphaned children and fight our own battle. For tose who do not understand the true meaning of Peaceful resolution, all actions may seem cowardly. This does not mean that you try to please everyone and tolerate violence against you. Your Views:I see a lot of postings here. that's a good sign. if any one is going to read my posting, i have a request. the only way we can crush the terrorism in india created by the bad people is, we need to be united. the unity can come from any level. from slum, or from internet. why not we form a group for all of us and post our views ? maybe one of the higher officials may have a look at our posting and something dramatic may happen. anyone who wishes to join the group or start one or have any better suggestions, please do email me. unity should be there within us to crush the terrorism. jai hind - SRIDHAR.

Your Views:Soft State !! Any doubts about that. Anybody can come and attack our country. In fact u can take our land and gift it to a third nation too. Our honourable Home minister has a comprehensive list of registered terrorist organizations. Subsequent to every terrorist attack, he picks out a name from his magic bag. In fact he is so quick that minutes after the attack he can tell u who it was. Our defense minister has 1 million troops lined up at the border and infiltration is still on. The BJP govt has decided to observe Oct 1st as a day to awaken the indian people regarding terrorism. Is there any indian in the country who does not know what terrorism is ? Yes, we are waiting for the BJP govt to act. We are tired of hearing the leaders just speak ill of Pak and do nothing. We are tired of our leading ministers talking to the US and UK regarding terrorism in India. It is high time we act. Even a teeny weeny country like Bangladesh has the audicity to stand up against us. I believe that our country's face value needs a facial. We need to change our attitude, start acting strongly instead of just crying aloud. I hope our honourable ministers understand the need of the hour and act.

Your Views:I think it is more a matter whether we are internally strong rather then thinking about we are soft state. We should build our self so strong that we should be able to defend ourself internally from external forces.Rather thiking about attacking other contries .why not make our itnernal system so strong that no one can dare to do anything of that sort. I will end with the quote ."It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence." Mahatma Gandhi
