Kashmir Committee chairman Ram Jethmalani met senior separatist leader and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party chief Shabir Ahmad Shah after his arrival in Srinagar on a three-day visit.
Jethmalani drove to the Sanant Nagar residence of Shah in the city and held detailed discussions with him.
Jethmalani was accompanied by M J Akbar, editor of The Asian Age, senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar and leading Supreme Court lawyer Ashok Bhan.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Jethmalani said, "The solution to the problem has to be somewhere in the middle of the strong postures taken by the Government of India and the Kashmiri separatist leaders."
"I am prepared to meet everybody. I am ready to hold talks with the new state Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti, and senior leaders of the National Conference. I will meet anyone who is interested in a dialogue."
Jethmalani, along with other members, also visited the residence of former Hurriyat chairman Moulvi Omar Farooq.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik, who is also a senior Hurriyat member, had on Thursday decided to boycott the Kashmir Committee.
"Now that Yasin is out of the jail, he will breathe fresh air and change his mind," Jethmalani said in response to Malik's boycott.
