Sonia to address Oxford Islamic Centre on November 29

Shahid K Abbas in New Delhi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi will deliver a lecture on 'Conflict and Peaceful Coexistence' at the Oxford Islamic Centre in United Kingdom on November 29, party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy announced on Thursday.

Gandhi, who will be accompanied by party leader K Natwar Singh, will leave on November 27 and return on November 31, he said.

"In spite of the Gujarat elections, she is fulfilling her engagement," he said.

Some of the previous speakers at the OIC, whose present director is Farhan Nizami, an Indian, include South African leader Nelson Mandela, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, Britain's Prince Charles and Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, the spokesman added.
