Attack on Bundela was stage-managed: friend

Giving a boost to the contention of the police that actor Raja Bundela had 'stage-managed' the attack on himself in Bhopal on Sunday, an assistant conservator of forest who claimed to be Bundela's friend on Wednesday said the actor had hatched the conspiracy at his house.

Following reports in a section of the media of his involvement in the case, Assistant Conservator of forest K K Sharma told reporters that Bundela had planned for the attack to take place after the press show of his film Pratha on the night of November 15.

The actor had called one Ashutosh Mishra, a member of an outfit called the 'Bajrang Sena', and asked him to stage a demonstration during the screening of the film, Sharma said.

Apparently, Bundela had not expected the entire issue to snowball into a major controversy, he said.

Around 25 'Bajrang Sena' activists had allegedly beaten up Bundela at the Lily cinema hall on Sunday for reportedly showing some priests in bad light in his film.

Bundela has neither filed any complaint with the police about the incident nor pressed for any charges against the three arrested persons.

The trio were let off on bail on Monday afternoon after one of the culprits gave in writing that he was Bundela's friend and the entire incident had been stage-managed.
