CBI raids houses of railway, state officials in Orissa

Giridhar Gopal in Bhubaneswar

Officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation raided the houses of two railway officials and two top state government officials in Bhubaneswar in connection with the Railway Recruitment Board racket.

The scam came to light when allegations were made that RRB officials recruited 'some candidates' in lieu of 'favours'.

The raid was part of an operation spread across eight states, CBI sources told rediff.com.

Deputy Superintendent of Police A P Gupta led the CBI team. Several incriminating documents and forged papers have been seized in the raid, sources added.
