Jack Straw arrives in New Delhi

British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday evening from Islamabad to hold talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and other Indian leaders in a bid to defuse the Indo-Pak border standoff.

Besides Vajpayee, Straw would meet Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Defence Minister George Fernandes and External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh on Wednesday.

He would also meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi during his 24-hour stay in the capital.
