Five Pak soldiers killed in retaliatory Indian firing in Poonch

At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory firing and shelling, while one person was killed and 12 others were injured on Indian side in Jammu and Kashmir since Tuesday evening, official sources said on Wednesday.

Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing and shelling on forward posts and some civilian areas of Poonch district forcing Indian troops to retaliate, the sources said.

In the retaliation, several Pakistani bunkers were damaged and at least five of their soldiers killed across LOC, they said.

Pakistani troops had targeted areas of Swajian, Kobra, Angan Pathri, Sundari forest, Chaprian, Degwar, Khari-karmara, Jhallas with mortar shells and rockets as well.

Reports from Srinagar said that one person was killed and seven injured in the overnight Pakistani shelling in Uri sector of north Kashmir.
