Punjab: One-man inquiry commission judge resigns

Retired judge A S Garg, who was appointed by the Punjab government to probe into allegations of corruption, irregularities, illegalities and other misdoings during the five-year rule of the Akali Dal-BJP government has resigned, official sources said.

Justice Garg was appointed as the one-man commission to hold the probe on April 23.

His resignation was received at the Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh and it was being referred to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh as the appointment under the Commission of Inquiry Act, 1952 was on the recommendation of state government.
