Hizb expels 2 more commanders in Kashmir

The Pakistan-based leadership of the Hizbul Mujahideen on Thursday expelled two more commanders operating in the Kashmir valley.

They were replaced with two new faces.

The Pakistan-occupied Kashmir-based command council, the highest decision making body of the outfit, expelled Abu Ubaid and Asgar Ibne Rehman, divisional commanders of north Kashmir and Kupwara district respectively, from primary membership of the outfit.

They had opposed the expulsion of former chief commander of operations Abdul Majid Dar and two other divisional commanders.

Hizb spokesman Saleem Hashmi told a local news agency on phone after a meeting of the council in Muzaffarabad, PoK, that they were expelled for "gross indiscipline and anti-party activities".

He said Gazi Naseeb-ud-Din and Rafi-ul-Islam have been appointed as divisional commander of north Kashmir and district commander of Kupwara respectively.
