PM likely to visit Gujarat on April 4

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is likely to visit Gujarat on April 4 to assess the situation in the wake of the communal violence in the state.

The visit follows a meeting between him and Chief Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Modi had given a presentation on the relief and security measures initiated in the state.

During his daylong visit to the state, Vajpayee will visit some of the riot-affected areas and interact with state political leaders, sources said.
