Geelani hospitalised following severe chest pain

Fire-brand Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former chairman of the Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani has been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi following severe chest pain.

Geelani, who arrived in the capital on Tuesday, was admitted to the Escorts Hospital late on Tuesday night after he developed a 'serious pain in the chest', a Hurriyat Conference spokesman said in Delhi on Wednesday.

Geelani is said to be suffering from acute bronchitis.

He has previously undergone heart surgery after which he was fitted with a pacemaker.
