Meghalaya ministry faces crisis

In a major political development, Congress on Monday night announced that it was rethinking continuance of support to the F A Khonglam coalition ministry in Meghalaya following the chief minister's decision to drop eight of the ten of the major ally's ministers.

However, all the 13 opposition UDP legislators have extended support to Khonglam, who has accepted their offer.

The chief minister met Governor M M Jacob and apprised him of the latest political situation saying that UDP had taken the decision to join his ministry.
