Curbs in Ayodhya to be
relaxed from Sunday

Uttar Pradesh Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri on Saturday said the security restrictions in Ayodhya would be relaxed gradually from Sunday.

To start with, he said, the bus services to the town, suspended to prevent a build-up kar sevaks in the run-up to the shila dan progamme, would be restored on Sunday.

Shastri said he would send a request to the Centre to resume train services too. A special officer would be sent to Ayodhya to oversee the relaxation of restrictions placed in the town.

The governor said his administration was committed to implement the Supreme Court order on maintaining status quo in Ayodhya and the security forces would continue to be deployed in adequate numbers on the acquired land.
