Nephew of Congress MP killed in Ahmedabad

A nephew of a Congress Member of Parliament was killed and nine others injured in sporadic violence that rocked Ahmedabad on Friday prompting authorities to clamp indefinite curfew in three city areas.

Indefinite curfew was imposed in Bharuch, also parts of Baroda following arson and clashes between two communities. Curfew was also imposed in Petlad and Balasinor towns of Kheda districts.

Nitish Kumar Parmar, nephew of sitting Congress MP Pravin Rashtrapal, was stabbed in sensitive Shahpur area of Ahmedadad, the police said.

Grievously injured on his head, 20-old Nitish, a student, was rushed to the civil hospital where he was 'declared brought dead', the police said.

Of the nine injured in separate incidents, three were women.
