Deshmukh hears out Marathwada MLAs' grievances

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Deshmukh on Thursday directed officials to conduct a survey for a storage lake and other water resources in neighbouring areas of Aurangabad to tide over the problem of water scarcity in the city.

Deshmukh's directives came at a meeting of ruling Democratic Front (DF) MLAs hailing from Marathwada region, at Mantralaya in Mumbai.

The chief minister is conducting a series of meetings of ruling front MLAs from across the state after legislators complained of lack of development works in their constituencies.

Addressing MLAs from Jalna, Deshmukh directed officials to go in for small water supply projects instead of big ones.

Deshmukh asked officials to prioritise developmental works.
