Three arrested for Gulbarg Society murders

Five persons were on Tuesday arrested in Ahmedabad in connection with the 'reprisal attacks' on members of the minority community in the aftermath of the Godhra train carnage.

Mukesh Shori, Prahlad Raju Asari and Madanlal Raval were arrested for their alleged role in the massacre of some 39 persons at Gulbarg Society in Meghaninagar in which a former Congress MP Ehsan Jaffri was also killed, police said.

Meanwhile, Suresh Sehzad Chagra and Kalu Ramson Rajput were nabbed for their alleged involvement in rioting and arson incidents in Naroda Patia where 89 people lost their lives in February-March this year, they said.

The crime branch, which is investigating these cases, produced all the five accused before a metropolitan court, which remanded them to police custody for two days, the sources added.
