Supreme Court rejects NCP MLA's plea

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the petition of Nationalist Congress Party MLA Shiriskumar Kotwal, who had withdrawn his support to Democratic Front government in Maharashtra, seeking stay of the disqualification proceedings initiated by the state Assembly Speaker Arun Gujarati.

A division bench comprising Justice Ruma Pal and Justice Ashok Bhan said the petition cannot be entertained as the Speaker has not given any ruling so far.
