Sena will come back to power: Thackeray

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Monday exuded confidence that the saffron combine would come to power in Maharashtra even as he lashed out at the Democratic Front government for using the state machinery to serve its end.

Thackeray said that while the state machinery did little to flush out the illegal immigrants in the city, a substantial part of the machinery was used to conduct raids at the Matoshree Club in the metropolis where the defectors are put up.

"Law is being trampled in the state," he added.

He also queried whether the police was 'working for the government or serving the ends of political parties'.

Describing the current political scenario as a shock treatment for the 'inept DF government', Thackeray said it is depressing to note that the entire state secretariat currently wore a deserted look with the official work being brought to a grinding halt.

Thackeray also asked the saffron combine to topple the 'inept' DF government in Maharashtra and stressed they were 'duty bound' to ensure that the people had a competent government in the state.

Thackeray asserted that it was imperative for the saffron combine to pull down the Democratic Front government immediately for the 'larger good' of the state, leader of opposition in the legislative assembly, Narayan Rane said.
