Militants of Hizbul Mujahideen have issued a threat to carry out a major strike against security forces in Srinagar.

The threat by the outfit was issued over phone on Wednesday to a local news agency NAFA.

However, Inspector General of Police K Rajendra Kumar said, "We are aware of the threat but somebody else in the name of HM has issued it."
