Bhutto gets 3-year prison term for corruption

A Pakistani court on Tuesday sentenced former prime minister Benazir Bhutto to three years in prison for corruption.

Judge Mansur Ali Khan also ordered Bhutto's non-moveable assets to be seized.

Bhutto, who lives in self-imposed exile in the United Arab Emirates and Britain, was ousted in 1996 after a corruption scandal.

She and her husband, Asif Zardari, were found guilty of corruption by a court in April 1999 and sentenced to five-year jail terms, fined and disqualified from politics for seven years.
