Kanchi Seer against trifurcation of J&K

Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Swami Jayendra Saraswati on Friday opposed the demand of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir.

"The very thought of trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir is highly dangerous. Such statements are harmful to the subcontinent," he said talking to reporters in Tirupati.

The Shankaracharya said, "The country's stand on Kashmir issue would get weakened by such unhealthy statements."

Opposing the Centre's decision to allow FDI in print media, he said, "If foreign media lands on Indian soil, undoubtedly our social and cultural values would be degraded."
