At least 22 people were feared killed on Thursday when a Boeing 707 cargo aircraft carrying 25 people crashed in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, African aviation authorities said.
A dozen bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of the plane.
Government spokeswoman Nathalie Gouenebana said the aircraft had 22 people on board, including the crew, but airport sources in Ndjamena said that 25 people were on the plane.
Officials said that it appeared that with the exception of a woman, who was injured, there were no casualties among the population of Bangui.
