Jharkhand governor Prabhat Kumar quits

Jharkhand Governor Prabhat Kumar has resigned, official sources said on Monday.

The resignation of Kumar, a former cabinet secretary, comes in the wake of reports that a businessman had paid for three parties hosted by him when he was holding the key post at the Centre.

The sources said Kumar, who was sworn in as Jharkhand governor on November 15, 2000, resigned on Saturday.
