Security was beefed up in Ayodhya town of Uttar Pradesh as Vishwa Hindu Parishad prepared on Thursday to organise a Dharam Sabha on January 20.
The authorities refused permission to members of Sri Ram Janmabhumi Seva Samiti to offer puja at the makeshift temple, which was stormed by VHP activists led by Ashok Singhal in October last.
Check-posts have been set up at every entry point in Ayodhya and vehicles are thoroughly checked before being allowed into the city.
Additional police personnel were posted at all important temples and paramilitary forces have been posted inside the disputed land.
Devotees visiting the makeshift temple are being allowed in small batches after frisking at entry points.
According to VHP's spokesman Sharad Sharma, all necessary preparations for Dharam Sabha and Sant Chetavani Yatra have been completed, which would start from Ayodhya to New Delhi on January 21.
