Tony Blair served Kashmiri cuisine

British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who hurt Indian sentiments by saying Pakistan's position on Kashmir was strong, was served exclusively Kashmiri cuisine at a banquet hosted by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Sunday night.

Whether it was by design or not, the delicacies served to him included Dum aloo (Kashmiri potato dish), Moch maz (mutton dish), Methi murg (fenugreek chicken) and Tamatar paneer (tomato cheese).

The British prime minister liked the Kashmiri dishes very much.

The dishes mainly form the traditional Wazwan (feast), prepared during marriages or other important functions of Kashmiri Muslims.

Even the sweet dish was the Kashmiri firni, served after the Wazwan, and the dinner ended with the traditional Kong kahawa tea (saffron kahawa tea).
