VHP threatens Centre over Ayodhya issue

If the central government wants to remain in power then it must hand over the land that it acquired in Ayodhya to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said on Friday.

"If they (the Bharatiya Janata Party) want to remain in power, they will have to think of returning the land acquired by the government," VHP international working president Ashok Singhal told Aaj Tak news channel.

He said the religious leaders have already announced their plan to launch a satyagraha if the government does not take a decision on the issue by March 15.

Singhal said: "No government in this country can survive by oppressing the religious leaders. We have seen the fate of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Can anyone now think, like Mulayam Singh, of suppressing Hindu religious leaders?"
