Fourteen terrorists, including nine belonging to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, were killed in separate gun battles with the army in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, defence sources said.
Nine LeT terrorists were killed when troops foiled a major infiltration bid near the Line of Control in Mendhar area, the sources said.
The troops challenged a group of infiltrating terrorists and in the ensuing gunfight, lasting four hours, nine of them were killed.
Six Kalashnikov rifles, one pika gun, a pistol, five wireless sets and a large quantity of explosives were recovered from the scene.
In another gun battle between troops and terrorists in Kaka forest of Poonch on Friday evening, five terrorists belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed, the sources said.
