Calling for a "just solution" to the Kashmir issue and "real peace" between India and Pakistan, Afghanistan's interim leader Hamid Karzai on Friday said Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and President Pervez Musharraf were "courageous leaders" and expressed confidence that the two would bring a "new era" of tranquillity in the region.
"I hope they (Vajpayee and Musharraf) have summits of this nature," Karzai said while referring to the Indo-Pak summit last year.
Karzai, who was the first Afghan leader to visit Pakistan after the collapse of the Taliban regime, said: "We want a just solution (to the Kashmir issue). Frankly, as a man and a human being I want all people to live in peace, tranquillity and progress."
"We need a kind of peace where we can begin from Kabul, stop at Islamabad, go to Delhi and come back the same way. I think it is good for all of us," the Afghan leader said.
