Hurriyat ready for talks if Pakistan involved December 28, 2002 19:16 IST A day after Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani stated that the Centre will hold talks with even those who did not participate in the assembly election, the All-Party Hurriyat Conference on Saturday said it is ready for a dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue if Pakistan is involved. "We are ready to hold talks with anybody to find a durable and long lasting solution to Kashmir issue," Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq told the Press Trust of India. However, it is necessary to involve people from Pakistan and Kashmir, who are parties to the dispute, he said. The talks do not have to be concurrent, Farooq said. "If the government is serious about resolving the issue, it has to talk to the real representatives of the people of Kashmir," the Hurriyat leader said.
