Mother Teresa to be beatified in 2003

With Pope John Paul endorsing a miracle attributed to Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate may be beatified some time in 2003.

There is, however, one more step before she can be elevated from 'blessed' to saint, which is authentication of a second miracle.

Born Agnes Gonzha Bojazhiu in Macedonia on August 27, 1910, Mother Teresa had dedicated her life to work in the slums of Calcutta.
