Govt to appoint new judge to head Tehelka probe

The government on Friday announced in the Lok Sabha that it planned to continue the probe into Tehelka expose and would appoint a new judge to head the commission within a fortnight.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan made the announcement shortly before the winter session of Parliament was adjourned sine die.

Mahajan apologised to the House on behalf of the Law and Justice Minister K Jana Krishnamoorthy saying he was taken ill on Thursday and hospitalised and could not make the statement as had been assured earlier.
