Jayalalithaa drops 2 senior ministers

In the tenth reshuffle of the 19-month-old government in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday dropped two senior ministers.

According to a Raj Bhavan communiqu�, Education Minister M Thambidurai and Revenue Minister Dalavai Sundaram have been dropped on the advice of the chief minister.

While the revenue portfolio has been entrusted to Public Works Department and Excise Minister O Panneerselvam, himself a former chief minister, education has been given to Health Minister R Semmalai.

Jayalalithaa had reshuffled her Cabinet only last month, dropping five ministers and inducting three -- two of them for the second time 18 months.
