Sri Lankan PM arrives on three-day trip

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe arrived in Chennai on Friday on a three-day visit, which will take him to the temple towns of Kancheepuram, Tirupati, and also Hyderabad and Bangalore.

He is expected to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad and Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna in Bangalore.

On his arrival, Wickremasinghe left straight for Kancheepuram, where he is scheduled to call on the Kanchi Shankaracharya, Jayendra Saraswati. From there, he will proceed to Tirupati.

On Sunday, Wickremasinghe will attend in Bangalore the wedding of the daughter of India's former high commissioner to Sri Lanka, Gopalakrishan Gandhi.
